Infrared Ovens

Infrared ovens can be used in the preheating and baking stages of the part in powder and wet paint applications. IR rays are electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength shorter than 780 nanometers (nm). These rays act by heating the materials.

General Features

It can be used in the preheating and baking stages of the part in powder and wet paint applications. Thanks to its higher efficiency and controlled heat compared to convection ovens, it facilitates heat transmission to the part and thus reduces the size of the oven.

When infrared ovens are placed at the entrance of powder coating ovens, they increase the oven speed by up to 20%.

It can also significantly shorten the drying time in wet paint applications.IR systems are needed in a variety of applications such as teflon coating, powder enamel coating and powder paint curing. It is used as intermediate drying in textile processes. It is also used in web printing and offset printing processes in the printing industry, as well as in various food processes.

When the powder paint is shocked with the IR system before entering the oven, bond formation (polymerization) is achieved between the paint and the surface at ~180°C. This prevents the powder paint from flying after the part enters the oven, resulting in brighter and cleaner painted surfaces.
